Versent has a great opportunity for a SQL Database Administrator to join our Versent Modern Practice immediately.
The ideal candidate should possess a robust proficiency in SQL database administration, with a primary emphasis on ensuring the stability, security, and optimization for our client databases using SQL on EC2 and RDS SQL servers.
As a SQL DBA, you will be responsible for providing exceptional operational support, maintaining database performance, and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
You'll have a deep understanding of SQL technologies, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service to our clients.

On a day to day, you'll be doing Manage and maintain SQL database environments in collaboration with key customer stakeholders and team members.
Experience with AWS - managing both SQL on EC2 and RDS SQL Servers
Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as monitoring, tuning, and optimization.
Implement and enforce database security best practices to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, incidents, and outages in a timely manner.
Implement automation strategies to streamline database management processes and improve efficiency.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for database management and security.
Skills requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience in managing SQL database environments, including undertaking upgrades, implementing solutions, and providing support in a managed services context.
Strong expertise in SQL Server management, database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Experience with database backup and recovery strategies, high availability solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
Proficiency in relevant scripting languages and database management tools
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working within an ITIL Service Management framework
Relevant certifications in SQL Server administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: SQL Database Administrator Associate or AWS)
