The Senior Speech Pathologist (Paediatrics) is accountable to the Allied Health Service Manager, Women's & Children's Health, for the planning, development, co-ordination, implementation and evaluation of the paediatric Speech Pathology services provided to inpatients and outpatients.
About the role: As the Senior Speech Pathologist, duties for the role will include: Provide acute speech pathology assessment and management of complex clinical cases including utilisation of instrumental investigation in the evaluation of swallowing (eg FEES, videoflouroscopy) where clinically indicated Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operation of paediatric speech pathology services at FMC Provide advice to management on professional service development, practice and redesign, in response to demand and client needs Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and training to other members of the team Participate in teaching and training of speech pathology students on clinical placement About you: Experienced paediatric speech pathologist with skills in the clinical management of paediatric feeding and dysphagia Ability to lead and work as part of a team Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines Demonstrated ability to work in an independent manner with limited supervision Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia.
