The Senior Category Management Specialist provides direct output support to the Contracts & Procurement Manager through establishment and maintenance of effective category strategies and contracts.
The categories shall be identified and agreed to deliver corporate strategy and lowest total cost.

Accountabilities 
 
Accountable for the strategic sourcing of the assigned categories and the development of vendor and category summaries for use in developing vendor and category plans.
Development and drafting of contracts and associated variations.Cost analysis and modelling, including Should Cost and Total Cost of Ownership models and analysis (where applicable).Implement the appropriate sourcing strategy, RFQ/RFT process and maintain up to date cost models for the assigned categories.Develop supplier scorecards for monitoring and measuring performance.Supporting development and maintenance of contract review and audit processes.Monthly savings report with the aim of demonstrating value improvements with year over year savings.Develop and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues, business partners, regulators, government, and other stakeholders, and utilising these relationships to successfully resolve issues.Develop partnerships with the Global Category Managers and Specialists to align on standard tools and procedures suited to both global and regionally managed categories.About you People are at the heart of everything we do.

Along with these expectations the ideal candidate would ideally possess:
Bachelor's qualification, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or Accounting5-7 years' experience in a senior contracts officer or category specialist role.High level knowledge and experience in category, contracts management, sourcing and procurement practicesStrong understanding of Incoterms and import processSound experience and knowledge of SAP and ARIBAHigh level spend and financial analysis capabilityStrong understanding of mining industry activitiesStrong interpersonal, communication and motivating skillsPermanent work rights in Australia Current C class Manual Driver's License.The ability to obtain a National Police ClearanceCulture and Benefits Our workplace demonstrates dignity and respect for each other, we offer challenging work, highly competitive remuneration that is regularly adjusted to market conditions and career development opportunities.
