(pro rata)   plus Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice benefits   – AHP3 Ongoing Full-Time About the Role: The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner to make a meaningful impact on the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.
As a Senior Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing expert assessment, intervention, and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviours.
Your expertise will be invaluable in developing and implementing evidence-based strategies to enhance their quality of life and promote positive behaviour change.
The Senior Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner works collaboratively with clients, their families, and carers to improve support provided to people exhibiting behaviours of concern in a way that is respectful of peoples' human rights, puts the client at the centre of planning, and aims to improve quality of life for clients with intellectual disability.
In this role you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to deliver comprehensive and person-centred care.
Your responsibilities will include conducting functional assessments, developing individualised behaviour support plans/strategies, providing training and consultation to caregivers, and continuously evaluating and refining interventions for optimal outcomes.
To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification for one of the following Allied Health disciplines working in the service, specifically: Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification recognised by the PsyBA and must hold general registration with PsyBA and be endorsed in Clinical or Health Psychology area of practice; or Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification in disability and community rehabilitation; or Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
