About the Role We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in advancing our digital roadmap, driving the development of scalable, high-quality software that enables our clinical teams to provide exceptional patient care. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will take the lead on designing, implementing, and optimising our software solutions, ensuring their alignment with our practice goals and technological vision. Based at our Eastwood Head Office, you will manage key projects end-to-end, mentor junior team members, and ensure the ongoing reliability, performance, and security of Jones Radiology's software platforms.
Key Responsibilities Design & Development: Lead the design and development of secure, high-performance software solutions, aligning with the organisation's goals and technical standards.Technical Leadership: Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering an environment that encourages collaboration, skill development, and continuous improvement.Project Ownership: Oversee the full lifecycle of critical projects, from initial planning to deployment and maintenance, ensuring alignment with practice and project goals.Customer Focus: Act as a liaison between the technical team and stakeholders, translating customer needs into technical solutions that enhance user experience and deliver real value.Ad-Hoc SQL Queries: Leverage SQL skills to analyse data, troubleshoot, and support data-driven decision-making, providing critical insights to support various practice functions.Code Reviews: Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure a maintainable, high-quality codebase and promote best practices throughout the team.Continuous Improvement: Advocate for best practices in SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD, driving improvements in team efficiency and productivity.System Health & Reliability: Ensure software reliability and scalability by proactively monitoring systems and managing potential risks.Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain and improve documentation, supporting knowledge sharing and alignment within the team.Compliance & Security: Ensure that software meets industry regulations, especially in healthcare, by actively participating in security assessments and upholding data privacy standards.Required Skills and Experience Experience: 5+ years in software engineering with a strong technical foundation.Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of modern software architectures (e.g., microservices, cloud-native), design patterns, and data structures.SQL Proficiency: Experienced in writing and executing SQL queries for data analysis and troubleshooting.Customer Focus: Demonstrated ability to understand and translate customer needs into effective technical solutions.Communication: Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Beneficial Experience: Experience with Python, C# & .Net, data warehousing, and cloud deployment on Azure/AWS.What We Offer Competitive Remuneration: A comprehensive compensation package with flexible work options.Supportive Benefits: Generous parental leave, phased return-to-work options, and ongoing professional development.Wellness and Culture: Access to wellness programs, fitness facilities, and confidential counseling, plus a vibrant workplace culture with regular social events and annual staff celebrations.Next Steps If you're ready to take on a meaningful role where you can make a difference in healthcare through digital innovation, apply now to join us on our mission.
