What you'd be doing in this role As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. This role is focused on:
Designing, implementing and maintaining processes and automations for Canva's engineering teams to simplify the provisioning and configuration of landing zones for their workloads in the Cloud.Being an SME in Infrastructure-as-Code (specifically, in Terraform).Developing infrastructure solutions with scalability, high-availability, and security in mind.Collaborating with other teams to work out the best solutions to their cloud problems.Participating in solution design meetings, hiring interviews, and code reviews.Proposing and contributing to new approaches and solutions to ensure we future-proof Canva's distributed cloud infrastructure as we continue scaling globally.You're probably a match if You have a strong Computer Science background with advanced coding proficiency in either Python or Golang (both preferred).You have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, maintaining, and automating Cloud Infrastructure in AWS (preferred), GCP and/or Azure.You have experience working with infrastructure as code - Terraform (preferred), AWS CloudFormation / SAM / CDK, or similar.You have an understanding of Cloud Security best practices.You have advanced knowledge of DevOps best practices, Kubernetes, Container Orchestration, Serverless infrastructures.You can guide and mentor other members of the team and improve the way we collaborate, learn, and share ideas.You have strong written and verbal communication skills - both technical and plain language.About the team You'll be joining the Cloud Essentials team whose primary mission is that users have easy ways to provision and manage secure landing zones in Cloud environments. In order to fulfil this mission, we not only follow Software engineering best practices and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) methodologies but also designing, maintaining and implementing supportive automations and Cloud architectures.
This team falls under The Cloud Platform Group who own Canva's cloud infrastructure, ensuring the safe, secure and reliable operation of canva.com. Our mission is "To reduce the complexity burden of using the Cloud", which we achieve through a combination of the tooling and services we provide, our robust standards, comprehensive developer documentation library and a team of experts who love a good challenge.
