This role will support the Westpac Institution Banking (WIB) Technology team on the highly strategic Cash Management Platform project. This is a multi-year transformation project and is a cloud native build with technologies such as React.js, TypeScript, Redux and Node.js (REST APIs). Having experience in Java and AWS cloud would be a bonus.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play an important role in the development of a new portal/API and applications for the banks Corporate and Institutional clients. You will also be required to design, develop and support implementation of enterprise level API-based platform.
This role is based in our Westpac Sydney office and will require you to attend the office with the wider team on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Your key responsibilities include:
Writing quality, bug free code and building APIs.Providing technical input to the strategic direction of technology investments.Identifying & assisting in mitigating the impact of technology dependencies on solution delivery.Developing & implementing technology solutions in line with best practices and to agreed timeframes.Engaging with Architects, Consultants, Infrastructure and Security Specialists to provide a key link between the technical needs of the business and the solution design.Participating in Westpac Engineering communities and providing constructive feedback to platform teams such as Service Mesh.What do I need? Min 5 years' experience in a similar Senior Engineer role.Must have strong technical knowledge in – Java 11+, RESTful APIs, Spring boot and AWS Data Technologies.Expertise in React JS, Redux, Node JS, Kafka/MQ, relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), Splunk, and AppDynamics.Prior experience in developing and implementing APIs that achieve project objectives.Prior experience in solution design and working as a solution designer across multiple programs.Background in software development & agile methodologies.Understanding of Banking and Financial Services would be highly regarded.Demonstrate the below soft skills:Excellent communication skills, ability to consult with various stakeholders.Continuous Improvement MindsetAbility to work within a highly skilled team as a team member.ProactiveA focus on delivering business value above all.What's it like to work there?
