Collaborating closely with your Centre Manager and the National Manager, Welfare & Programs, your role will be vital in overseeing evidence-based assessments, developing comprehensive care plans, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and policies. You will lead a dedicated team of social workers, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment while managing relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies. This position encompasses daily interactions with detainees, providing critical support to those at risk through the Psychological Support Program, and promoting a culture of safety and respect.In your new role, you will:Hold a 4 year Bachelor's degree or Master's degree.Be a professional member of the Australian Association of Social Workers.Hold a current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid)Oversee the professional practice and development of the social worker team, ensuring high standards of care and support.Conduct evidence-based assessments and interventions to enhance individuals' social capacity and living skills.Collaborate with various departments to promote the welfare, care, and well-being of individuals.Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and standards while managing the budget performance of your portfolio.Actively participate in emergency situations and facilitate incident debriefings to support continuous improvement efforts.Maintain accurate and timely reports, striving to meet departmental KPI targets while driving business improvement initiatives.ABOUT YOUYou are an accomplished and proactive social worker with extensive experience in senior management roles, preferably within detention, immigration, corrections, or similar complex environments.
