The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels.The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join their team at the Mersey Community Hospital.As a member of the North West Social Work service, the incumbent will, as part of a multidisciplinary team:Provide Senior Social Work leadership and contribute to the development, provision, and evaluation of social work services for consumers of the department and their families and/or the community; in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and the Code of Conduct of the Tasmanian Health Service.Mentor and supervise Social Work staff practice and student development in accordance with current models, professional standards and the AASW Code of Ethics.Actively pursue patient-centred Social Work interventions that aim to minimise the impact of chronic or acute health conditions with a particular focus on Palliative Care and Oncology Clients.Please note:Rotation across all clinical caseloads of the Social Work service may be required.Participation in a weekend on-call roster is required.The Team:Our team proactively engages with the multidisciplinary team to ensure best outcomes for our patients, practices collaboratively within the Allied Health team across our acute and community services, and promotes a culture of shared learning and respect for diverse perspectives.Details of appointment:Permanent, part-time, day worker position (with on-call), working 30.4 hours per fortnight.*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Salary: $106,966 to $123,013 pro rata, per annum.
