ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Project SMP Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the Project team to ensure effective construction management within Norton Gold Fields, with a primary focus on the Paddington region. This role involves providing leadership, integrating functions, and managing site processes to enhance the consistency and efficiency of project delivery.
KEY DUTIES AND TASKS Implement safe and environmentally acceptable working methods and practices, identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing control measures in consultation with relevant employees. Define project scope, budget, and optimize resources (human, technical, financial, etc.) based on clear justifications. Establish and negotiate Construction Execution Plans for each contract scope, including schedules and required resources. Coordinate and oversee Construction teams, including subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project specifications and agreed targets. Liaise with relevant parties to minimize interfaces and operational downtime, monitoring contractor performance and taking appropriate action as necessary. Provide leadership, advice, and mentoring across the project team, managing relations with external stakeholders, and addressing any variations or issues promptly while maintaining accurate records. Other relevant duties as required by the Project Development Manager. ROLE REQUIREMENTS 7+ years previous project experience on SMP (Essential) Tertiary qualifications in structural/mechanical engineering or construction management (Essential) Construction Projects ideally in the mining sector Satisfactory NPC clearance (Essential) Valid work visa, permanent residency or Australian citizenship (Essential) BENEFITS Permanent full-time role with immediate start Excellent remuneration package with additional allowances Receive $12k residential allowance per annum, if you are residential and not FIFO. Receive up to $5k site allowance per annum, depending on your site location. Receive up to 10% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of your base salary.
