About the Senior School Teacher – English We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced English teacher to join our English faculty.
You will be an enthusiastic, resilient and optimistic educator who builds positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues and collaborates with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
Teaching qualifications essential, and the ability and willingness to teach to Research Project is desirable but not essential.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to:
Plan for and implement effective teaching and learningProvide feedback and professional support to improve individual student learning outcomesContribute to the development of a strong learning community and cultureContribute to Pastoral Care and Co-curricular programs of the SchoolKey Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Relevant tertiary qualifications, and an experienced teacher of English for Years 7 to 12Current (or ability to attain) SA Teacher RegistrationInnovative and exemplary classroom practitioner with a proven record of student outcomesHigh level of ICT skills, knowledge and effective incorporation into classroom practiceThe capacity to cater for students with a range of abilities and learning styles within the classroom and to monitor, and respond to, student progressThe capability to work cooperatively with students, staff and parents to produce the best learning outcomes for studentsAccreditation as a Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher (or working towards) will be viewed favourablySupport for the ethos of an independent, coeducational, Uniting Church school.Key Selection Criteria: Personal Qualities: Enthusiastic, resilient and optimistic educatorA high level of organisational ability; is flexible and can prioritise and manage multiple demands in a fast-paced environmentHighly developed interpersonal skills which enable positive relationships to be built with managers, peers, staff, parents and studentsAble to successfully work independently, and collaboratively, as part of a teamCommitment to lifelong learning and continuous improvementA team player demonstrating a 'whole School' and 'whole child' perspectiveTo apply, please submit via Seek, your resume and cover letter addressed to Ms Andrea Sherwood, Director of Learning.
