Senior Sales Engineer ANZ Location: Remote, based in Australia, preferably near Sydney
Position Summary: The Senior Sales Engineer is a hybrid role blending technical sales engineering with light sales management to drive revenue growth for Telestream products across Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
This individual will leverage technical expertise, business acumen, and strategic sales skills to identify, qualify, and close cloud and on-premises opportunities.
Acting as a trusted advisor to customers, they will collaborate closely with sales managers, internal teams and channel partners to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
Responsibilities: Manage pre-sales processes from initial contact through post-sales support, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Act as a product evangelist in key customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events to increase awareness of product capabilities. Identify new sales opportunities within existing and new customer bases. Collaborate with sales managers and partners to close business by aligning solutions to specific customer needs. Establish strong relationships with key customers, end-users, and partners, serving as a technical consultant. Assist sales managers and partners in identifying, qualifying, and developing new opportunities, including providing technical demonstrations and proof of concept when needed. Collaborate with sales teams to develop tailored selling strategies for target accounts. Build and maintain a technical relationship with customers, acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert. Serve as the primary technical resource for pre-sales, conducting solution presentations, creating build of materials for proposals, and troubleshooting both remotely and on-site. Lead technical demonstrations and ensure effective deployments, including product installations, upgrades, and customer training. Provide first- and second-level technical support to customers and partners as needed, assisting with RFP/RFI/Tender responses and troubleshooting. Stay informed on industry trends, particularly within digital video, video streaming, IP networking, and cloud computing. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new product releases, features, and selling points. Qualifications: 5+ years in sales engineering or technical sales roles in media and entertainment, digital video, or digital workflows. Proven success in pre-sales engineering or solutions architecture, with expertise in SaaS and on-premises solutions, ideally within the ANZ market. Experience with video workflows, video streaming, and hybrid cloud deployments. Strong understanding of digital video/audio technology, compression technology, IP networking, and protocols (e.g., SMPTE 2022-6, PTP, SRT, NDI). Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and familiarity with XML and JSON APIs. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting desired but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently present to executive audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and translate customer needs into solutions. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Telestream product experience desirable.
Ideally with experience in Telestream Vantage and Lightspeed Live Capture. Working Conditions: Remote work from a home office with flexible hours to support customers across various time zones. Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time across Australia and New Zealand.
