About the Role
We currently have two newly created full-time Senior Safety Advisor – Major Capital Delivery roles within our dynamic and expanding Health, Safety, and Environment Team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Safety Service Delivery, these pivotal roles will be 'boots on the ground' and responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all personnel on some of Melbourne's large-scale complex water infrastructure construction projects across the organisation. This role requires extensive experience in managing high-risk activities, conducting site investigations, and building strong stakeholder relationships. The Advisor will support the operational delivery of safety strategies, mentor project managers, and provide expert safety guidance across the Major Capital Delivery team.
About you:
Extensive experience across Major Infrastructure Projects, Construction, Rail, or Heavy Industrial environments within Tier 1 organisations.
Extensive experience in the identification of high-risk activities.
Minimum diploma level qualifications in safety, engineering, or risk management or equivalent operational or technical experience.
Provide advice, guidance, and coaching to support the implementation of H&S requirements.
Strong facilitation and communication skills.
Support Project Managers to create a strong and healthy safety culture that ensures our people and contractors go home safely every day.
Sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and decision-making skills.
Valid Victoria Driver's License and flexibility to travel across our multiple Melbourne Water sites.
AusCheck is required for this role.
