About you and the role
John Holland has been awarded the $500m Western Treatment Plant Upgrade for Melbourne Water. This is a long-term project due to complete in mid 2027 and we're looking for a passionate Senior Safety Advisor to join the team based in Werribee, VIC.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Provide Health and Safety specialist advice and technical input to delivery, ensuring that legal, contractual obligations and risks are identified and communicated appropriately.
Coordinate and conduct investigation into workplace incidents.
Conduct routine safety inspections and monitoring work areas.
Maintain professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, regulatory bodies and clients.
Monitor and evaluate the project Health and Safety programs for value and effectiveness.
Evaluate, investigate and gather information that will address inadequacies concerning safety matters.
Review specific high risk planned works to be undertaken to ensure compliance with the method of work.
What we are looking for:
Previous Safety experience on large infrastructure projects.
Diploma in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
Previous experience working on mechanical & electrical scopes is desirable.
Knowledge and skills in safety management techniques and tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible to work on-site Monday-Friday starting at 7am for pre-starts.
