Epicentre Engineers Pty Ltd are on the lookout for talented individuals to join our team. Due to a strong pipeline of work, we are seeking to appoint a Senior AutoCAD/CAD drafter.
You will be able to read and interpret redlined drawings produced by inspectors and engineers, produce as-built drawings, construction installation details, and equipment arrangements using AutoCAD/Revit/BIM software in coordination with engineers and other designers. You will work in a vital role which is responsible for tracking the progress and delivery of documentation.
You will require a highly collaborative and communicative approach to work with engineers and drafting teams across Australia. Awareness of operational principles, collaboration and coordination with other engineering disciplines is essential to achieve the high-quality design solutions for our clients.
This position will involve some or all the following key tasks at varying times:
General
Take direction from Drafting Group Manager and/or Operation Manager.
Allocation of Revit/AutoCAD drafting requirements for projects
Company drawing standard requirements, e.g., changes which may be necessary due to company standards updates, BCA, legislation, or AS.
Inform the manager within reasonable time if allotted tasks cannot be completed on time as nominated by them.
Complete timesheets regularly.
Perform all task in accordance with the current standards and regulations governing parameters of all projects and of the company.
Revit/AutoCAD Design Work
Update and maintain Revit/AutoCAD company standards to current Australian standards.
Establish, create, maintain company standards in Revit/AutoCAD for all services in liaison (not dictated) with services managers and engineers.
Follow established company standards in Revit/AutoCAD as well as day to day office etiquette.
Setup project Revit/AutoCAD title sheets, drawings and xrefs for each new project using set out company standards, Scope of work, client, and engineer's requirements within a reasonable timeframe.
Clean and update xrefs as required for projects using that information to aid engineers in their understanding of changes to xrefs thus design.
Implement the company's standard through the Operations Manager for overseas drafting assistance.
Maintain a high level of accuracy, legibility and presentation to all drawings issued to client.
Participate in design meetings.
Review all Revit/AutoCAD Designs before re-submitting to engineers for review.
Complete Revit/AutoCAD documentation quickly, diligently, and accurately.
Inform the Operations Manager / Drafting Manager of Revit/AutoCAD updates as and when required.
Inform the Operations Manager / Drafting Manager of advances in Revit/AutoCAD programs which may be pertinent to Epicentre Engineers Pty Ltd, as and when required.
Actively develop the Revit/AutoCAD documentation and system through, implementing filing procedures, producing standard details, title blocks, plot formatting etc. as directed.
Training
Take part in industry training as required.
Identify areas where training would be of assistance and of benefit to the company.
Train staff in Revit/AutoCAD Design where required.
Quality Assurance
Assist in implementing drafting standards in the Quality Assurance Procedures.
Ensure the quality system is implemented and maintained on all projects.
Ensure the highest standards in company drawing documentation is reached and are maintained at all times.
Perform all tasks in accordance with the current Standards and regulations governing the parameters of the project.
Involvement in the quality of 2D/3D drawings submitted to clients.
Experience/Skills Requirements
Minimum 3-year construction engineering industry experience.
Has a sound knowledge of engineering drafting methodology and best practices.
Is proficient on relevant engineering software package/s, AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
Able to communicate effectively, internally with other engineers and externally with clients.
Knowledge of regulations and standard pertaining to the industry.
Strong workplace principles.
Able to work unsupervised
Strong organisational/time management skills.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated good judgment skills and decision-making abilities.
