In the Asia Pacific region (SLR APAC), SLR has over 850 employees located throughout 24 offices.
Our globally integrated Mining Advisory Group includes Geologists, Mining Engineers, Metallurgists, Geotechnical Engineers, Civil Engineers, and Environmental Scientists with extensive experience in the mining and exploration industries.
With team members in Australia, USA, Canada, Europe, and Africa, SLR's Mining Advisory Group provides advisory services to the mining sector at all stages of project development from exploration and resource evaluation through scoping, prefeasibility and feasibility studies, financing, permitting, construction, operation, and closure and rehabilitation.
We provide support to major mining companies, mid-caps, junior mining and exploration companies, financial institutions, governments, law firms, and individual investors on the technical and commercial aspects of mineral property development and have extensive experience in all commodities and mining areas of the world.
SLR is seeking an experienced Resource Geologist to join our APAC Mining Advisory team.
As a member of our Geology team, you will bring demonstrated skills and experience with geological modelling and mineral resource estimation in an exploration, mining, consultant, and/or corporate environment.
You will likely have experience in more than one commodity type and/or deposit type.
In addition to strong technical skills, you'll also have strong communication skills, and be able to deliver clear findings through meetings, technical reports, and presentations to both technical and non-technical people.
You will have a broad understanding of the mining industry and the interplay of the sector's technical, environmental, scientific, and financial disciplines.
Our work is global, and your ability to communicate in additional languages to English will be viewed favourably.
Travel requirements vary but a typical team member may carry out 3 to 6 domestic or international trips of 3 to 7 days in duration on an annual basis.

The day to day for this opportunity will include:
Development and/or review of geological models or interpretations.Construction and/or review of block models supporting Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimates.Participation in the preparation of Technical Reports for public disclosure (e.g.
JORC, NI 43-101, SK-1300, etc.
).Where appropriate, acting as a Competent Person (CP) or Qualified Person (QP) for relevant disclosure documents.Communication of technical findings through meetings, technical reports, and presentations.Project management, including leadership of other geologists and third-party consulting groups.Working with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological findings and interpretations with those of other scientific, planning, and engineering disciplines.Ensuring successful project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client satisfaction.Participation in the preparation of proposals and contribute to the development and execution of service line, business sector, and client business development plans.Liaise and build relationships with clients and ensure excellent service delivery.Mentor junior geologists and participate in internal and external training/mentorship opportunities.This is a unique opportunity to bring your expertise to a highly engaged team, where your efforts and impact will be recognized and valued immensely.
ExperienceAs our new Senior or Associate Resource Geologist, you will join one of the largest, and most experienced teams of resource geologists globally.
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:
Undergraduate degree in geosciences.Advanced training in geostatistics viewed favourably.Registered Licensed Professional such as AusIMM CP(Geo), P.
Geo., CGeol., or equivalent, and where experience permits, willingness to act as a CP or QP (or alternate) for Mineral Resources.Significant knowledge of Leapfrog geological modelling software (additional modelling software knowledge viewed favourably).Experience with 3D geological modelling, data analysis, block modelling, and resource estimation.The ability to create and employ custom workflows using Python will be viewed favourably.Experience in an exploration and/or operational environment.We anticipate the successful candidate having a minimum of 8 years of diverse industry experience.
