As a key player in the Swinburne Research Office, you will have the chance to lead research and innovation in autonomy – covering robotics, autonomous systems, control engineering, and artificial intelligence/machine learning.
You will work closely with top-notch researchers, external partners, and University leadership to drive the successful implementation of autonomy technologies at Swinburne.

About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:  Highly developed technological skillset and project delivery experience pertaining to autonomy, AI/ML, and control systems.
Modelling, simulation, digital twinning and model-based engineering design approaches for systems engineering.
Experience and proven ability to collaborate with industry on applied research projects in defence and security sectors.
Knowledge and experience in data-driven systems modelling and simulation.
Proven ability to carry out research projects, both independently and within a broader team.
Demonstrated ability, or potential, to attract research funding from sources external to the university or contribute to funded research projects.
Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate effectively with industry collaborators and research partners, university staff and students.
Qualifications A PhD degree in Engineering, majoring in Robotics, Control, Automation and related field.
