This position supports the promotion of research opportunities and researcher development.
You will be a member of the School of Chemical Engineering's operations team, and work closely with the School Director of Research, providing high-level support to enable the efficient and effective management of the School's research activity.
Key responsibilities will include: Assist School staff in the development and submission of high-quality research applications, ensuring compliance and eligibility.Coordinate operational systems and resources to support researchers with the application process, ensuring applications are submitted by required deadlines and with complete documentation.Facilitate necessary approvals, including Head of School, for research funding applications, agreements and co-contributions, ensuring all necessary information is complete and checked.Be the primary point of contact for all research administrative matters in the School.Assist academic staff with research project budget preparation.Promote, and assist in the identification of research funding opportunities.Support the development of research related nominations and awards for School staff.Plan, organize and participate in School research seminars, research related events, and researcher development activities.Keep accurate records of grant application activity to enable tracking and internal reporting.Assist with the compilation and analysis of research data and metrics relevant to school research performance.Act as Secretary to the School Research Committee, including drafting agenda and minutes and preparing documentation required by the Committee.Serve as a link between the School and the research professional services in the Faculty and Central Portfolios and UniQuest, liaising as necessary.Ensure the currency of the research content on the School's website and intranet including academic staff profiles.Participate in the UQ Research Administrators' Network, when possible, to help maintain a community of 'best practice' in research administration at UQ.Undertake independent projects as required, and other administrative duties, as reasonably directed by the School Manager or School Director of Research.This is a full-time (100%), permanent position at HEW level 6.The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $88,099.39 - $94,512.08, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.
The total FTE package will be up to $103,076.28 - $110,579.13 annually.
As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.About You Completion of an undergraduate degree with subsequent relevant administrative experience in an education institution or similar environment, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Experience in research administration with an understanding of policies and procedures relating to research administration and external funding agencies or the demonstrated capacity to rapidly gain that knowledge.Proven ability to work both effectively in a team environment, and independently.Proven ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet regular and conflicting deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail.Excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to investigate problems, seek information and interpret situations.High level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to exercise tact and good judgment, and to negotiate with a range of individuals.Demonstrated commitment to the provision of high-quality customer service.High level computer skills with experience in managing, analysing, and interpreting data.Experience in the Higher Education Sector with a sound knowledge of administrative policies and procedures would be highly regarded.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
