Senior reporters are expected to be the leading source of knowledge on their industry sectors within Mumbrella, and take the lead on stories, leads and initiatives within these areas.
Senior reporters also support other reporters and editors with content creation and curation.

Job Description Content Creation
News gathering around the media, marketing and advertising industry in Australia
Reading, writing and researching features and articles
Content curation tasks and responsibilities for conferences within assigned segment
Ensuring that all produced articles comply with ethical codes of practice and legal guidelines
Raising the profile of the website
Building out Mumbrella's content offering across multimedia platforms (including but not limited to podcasts, video and face-to-face)
Responsible for running newsdesk on assigned weekends
Speak and provide insights into the media industry on the Mumbrellacast podcast when required
Producing and curating weekly segment newsletters
Any other editorial tasks as required
Research & Analysis
Contact, interview and research sources
News gathering around the media & marketing industry in Australia
Receive assignments or investigate news leads/tips
Research and stay on top of market trends, movements and issues
Editing
Ensure written articles are up-to-date and free of typos and legals in the first instance
Assist the editor and deputy editor in checking the newsletter and keeping an eye on content throughout the day, flagging any errors or issues which need to be rectified/ updated
Maintain notes and audio recordings
Updating the Mumbrella website and sending out the daily newsletter through WordPress and Adestra
Producing, recording and editing the Mumbrellacast podcast each week if required
Maintaining the podcast equipment is in working and safe condition
Making sure all WordPress features are used correctly in articles, in line with Mumbrella's editorial guidelines
Desired Skills and Experience Minimum two years' experience in an reporter role or similar
Commitment and ability to develop a stable of sources for exclusive stories
Strong analytical and research
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Previous knowledge of writing about the media and marketing industry is an advantage, but not essential
