The Senior Quality Control Analyst (Payroll Compliance Assurance) is responsible for guiding and executing complex sample-based testing of People Services processes to ensure payroll systems/processes are compliant with internal policies, regulatory bodies, and standards. The role involves identifying potential control weaknesses through sample-based testing, assessing risks, and relaying findings to relevant stakeholders (including Industrial Relations Governance Team and Remediation Team) to facilitate further investigation and remediation. A Senior Analyst is not only involved in identifying issues and assessing risk but also providing strategic guidance and mentoring to Quality Control analyst/s.
Key objectives and accountabilities: Review and analyse relevant documentation and all relevant data to identify potential risks and control gaps to conduct targeted testing on. Guide the development of testing methodologies, checklists, and criteria to ensure accurate and consistent assessments. Determine the optimal sample size from the identified population to ensure a high level of confidence in findings while maintaining operational efficiency. Conduct and oversee sample-based testing of People Service processes to evaluate compliance with established policies and procedures and employment laws. Maintain precise and comprehensive working papers that clearly document the testing procedures and findings. Review analyst's working papers to ensure a high quality level has been achieved and provide timely and relevant feedback. Prepare thorough, data-driven summaries of findings and present identified issues. Communicate/present findings to stakeholders, including People Services/Payroll teams, Compliance team, Industrial Relations, Internal Audit, and senior management. Serve as a subject matter expert on compliance-related matters within the People Services/Payroll. Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to the development of best practices within the compliance assurance function. Manage and participate in relevant fieldwork and data collection relevant to incident reporting. About You: 3-5+ years in audit/compliance/payroll/employment law compliance preferred. Knowledge of internal control practices. Experience in supporting effective change in a multifaceted people environment. Experience engaging with and influencing stakeholders to drive successful change management. Application of robust financial control frameworks. Value Stream and Process Mapping. Critical analysis and reporting skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent writing skills, and experience in managing stakeholder relationships. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities to tight deadlines.
