The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) has a unique opportunity to make impactful change as we seek to appoint a Principal Advisor Safety Assurance based at our Surry Hills office in Sydney, New South Wales.
As our Principal Advisor Safety Assurance, you will play a vital role in our organisation, being required to foster and enable a continuous improvement culture by supporting the Aviation teams, lead risk and assurance activities, develop training and safety promotional initiatives.
Reporting directly to the Head of Risk and Assurance, as our Principal Advisor Safety Assurance your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Management of incident reports, change management activities and findings/actions in the incident reporting software.Perform aviation investigations and associated root cause analysis activities to identify corrective and preventative actions.Conduct internal aviation audits with the purpose of assessing system compliance to applicable regulations, standards, and contract requirements and identifying opportunities for improvement.Lead the Aviation Supplier Approval Program, including conducting onsite supplier audits.Analysis, evaluation and report on the performance of the safety and quality management system.Lead the development of quality and safety directives, policies, processes and program applicable work instructions.Support emergency response and business continuity activities.About You As our Principal Advisor Safety Assurance you will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills having the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, be reliable and responsive with a can-do attitude, present with strong motivation, initiative with significant organisational and decision-making capabilities and work to always uphold our values through acting ethically and professionally.
You will additionally present with the pre-requisites of: Technical and/or further education qualifications in either Quality Management, Safety Management, or equivalent demonstrated experience.Demonstrated experience conducting safety investigations, including an understanding of human factors and non-technical skills.Demonstrated experience conducting system audits and hold a lead auditor qualification.In-depth understanding of Engineering, Airworthiness and Flight Operations principles, practices and regulations.Having held an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering license is desirable.Advanced computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications.About The Royal Flying Doctor Service The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world.
