General Summary: Your new role as Senior Publicist will be to drive awareness and reach of Max through earned media of our brand and content. This role will report to the Senior Publicity Manager for the Streaming & Networks division of WBD ANZ. The Job: The role will manage the day-to-day brand and program publicity for Max in Australia, with national publicity responsibilities. In this role you will develop and implement comprehensive earned media that gains maximum levels of favourable publicity for WBD. To do this to a high standard, the Senior Publicist must foster strong working relationships with media (inc. broadcast, print, radio and online) nationally, and also work cohesively with the WBD Publicity and Corporate Communications team across Australia and New Zealand. The position will also require you to quickly forge effective connections with a range of internal departments across the business. As a global media business, this role will require regular communication with international colleagues in the US, UK, APAC and beyond. Flexible working hours required. The role will report to Senior Publicity Manager based in Sydney, Australia. You will be working on some of the best content from around the world from Max and HBO Originals, WBD's classic franchises such as Friends, The Big Bang Theory and renowned brands including the DC universe, Warner Bros., Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet, Cartoon Network and Harry Potter. Responsibilities and Duties: Develop strategic and tactical PR strategies and formulate publicity ideas for editorial angles, media stunts, media interviews and creative mailers. Secure key media in TV, radio, print, and digital and manage and distribute publicity tools to key media. Write and disseminate press releases plus press kits, imagery and screeners. Develop international and local talent promotional plans, as required, and manage large scale publicity activity i.e. press conferences, red carpets, media events, junkets and stunts. Manage and maintain master media database - Television/Streaming, Entertainment, Trade and General Media. Work with local talent agents and production companies on original productions. Work with WBD international marketing and publicity teams, along with international agents and publicists. Implement unit publicity requirements for local productions. Qualifications & Experience: Prior Experience / Industry: At least 5+ years of experience in media, entertainment, production, TV networks or streaming business. Language: Excellent in English communication (verbal & written). Strong creative and strategic thinker, with the ability to identify opportunities and risks in publicity activities. Collaborative approach to problem solving. Experience with media monitoring (ie Streem) and press release distribution tools (ie Campaign Monitor). Dynamic personality, adaptable with a high-degree of professionalism. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrate strong time management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks. How We Get Things Done This last bit is probably the most important!
