We are currently looking to hire Senior Project Officers for our Maintenance Delivery Branch at the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA)
This branch oversees and executes projects within the planned maintenance program (PMP), which includes upgrades to hydraulic fire services systems (HFSS), DDA ramp upgrades, shelter-in-place projects, planned asbestos removal, and other asset management tasks.
The delivery team within this branch offer commercial and program management services.
A Senior Project Officer deals with the implementation of multiple projects within large-scale programs.
The role provides opportunities for project management improvements and strategic decision-making.
The key accountabilities for the position include:
managing and coordinating the work of consultants and contractors to scope in the delivery of approved construction works including maintenance, minor works and DDA compliance projects in schools around the state of Victoria.Subject matter expertise and sound knowledge of DDA compliance, particularly in regard to access and egress, includinga strong understanding of AS1428 and its application to accessand egress.negotiating with, and influencing, stakeholders in the development and management of construction projects and inimplementing appropriate communications with school principals and other key school stakeholdersmonitoring and driving project outcomes, including time, cost, quality and compliance for construction projects.assisting with accurate reporting based on credible, authoritative and well-evidenced advice that support project outcomes inconstruction projects.collaborating with internal teams on implementation of construction projectsestablishing and maintaining effective relationships with diverseindustry professionals such as engineers and surveyors tomanage risks and resolve issues that may impact successful project and program delivery.overseeing end to end delivery of multiple construction projects simultaneously, to achieve positive delivery outcomes, within required timeframes and budget restraints, whilst achieving the required project scope and quality outcomes.overseeing procurement processes for consultants and contractors to meet statutory and regulatory requirements,including ministerial directions for construction procurement and other internal governance regimes.The ideal candidate will have a background in programimplementation and/or project management, with experience and/orrelated qualifications in building or construction and demonstrated skills in managing a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
The position is based at 33 St Andrews Place, East Melbourne withhybrid working arrangements available. It is a fixed term role to the30/6/2026.
