This exciting opportunity for a role within the Uniform and Equipment Branch, Equipment and Fleet Division, Operational Infrastructure Department is now available to all interested applicants. The position reports to the branch manager and is responsible for the management of the Equipment Unit, with four direct reports (3 x VPS4, 1 x VPS3). As the unit manager, you will be responsible for delivering the strategic direction and product lifecycle management of all Operational Safety Equipment (OSE) that sits within the category. An upcoming focus will be on Ballistic Vests due to the Ballistic Vests Next Generation procurement commencing later this year.

Your duties will include: Management and professional development of all direct report team members. Setting the strategic direction of the unit in line with overarching branch goals. Undertaking extensive stakeholder engagement to ensure validation of product requirements. Managing wide-ranging workloads and competing priorities. Working collaboratively across the wider team and with internal and external Subject Matter Experts to deliver successful outcomes. As the successful applicant, you will have: Proven experience in managing a team or work unit A proven background in project management and being able to deliver successful outcomes. An ability to multi-task, problem solve and develop relevant processes in a fast-paced environment Have excellent communications skills, including the ability to write high level briefings to inform decision making and be able present complicated concepts to the required audience. An interest in learning about Operational Safety Equipment and how it's allows the Victoria Police membership to keep the community safe. Requirements and relevant information: This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands. This position requires shift work as indicated in the Position Description (as attached to the advertisement).
