The Senior Project Officer will effectively support the administration and coordination of complex capital projects. The role requires an ability to administer capital projects from initiation through to final project delivery and work with a range of stakeholders to achieve project outcomes. Candidates must be comfortable administering multiple projects of significant value and have strong self-management skills.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Assist in managing key tasks, deliverables and deadlines, including coordination of other team members to achieve project objectives and general project management and reporting requirements.
• Contribute to developing a suite of high quality project management, financial, procurement and governance tools and reports, including preparing and reviewing high standard correspondence, briefing notes, submissions, project management reports, financial and procurement papers and other ad hoc activities as required.
• Processing and recording of transactions and key information in corporate systems, including Content Manager, Aurion, Travel and in house contracts administration software.
• Provide administration support for Project Monthly Reports & Status Updates.
• Attend project team meetings, manage and provide project secretariat services and reporting requirements for various steering committees and stakeholder arrangements within established project governance frameworks.
• Investigate, analyse and evaluate information from diverse sources including project documents, contracts and legislative / regulatory requirements and provide risk management advice to directors and project managers on project financial, budgetary, contractual, and procurement related issues.
• Maintain processes, procedures, work instructions and forms associated with the projects, as well as maintaining project registers as required to ensure accurate data is captured and recorded.
• Effective communication and relationships with key project stakeholders, including project managers, program managers, client managers, clients and other internal business units.
• High competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Demonstrated ability to administer projects, working with program and project teams, including consultants and/or multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that risks are effectively managed and key program and project milestones are achieved.
• Demonstrated capacity to provide high level administration to a range of key stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge and skills in administration and delivering project outcomes through self management.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and sound negotiation skills, with well-developed ability to write with precision and persuasion.
