Senior Project Officer (Hazard and Risk)The Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA)'s vision is to build a more disaster resilient Queensland.
Working in the Hazard and Risk unit, you will be supporting the disaster risk management approach in Queensland, ensuring government and communities have access to scientifically informed, reliable information.
In this role you will be supporting program management across the Hazard & Risk unit to deliver effective hazard and risk strategies for Queensland.
Some of your responsibilities will be to:
Deliver governance and assurance for multidisciplinary hazard and risk projects and support stakeholder engagement activities.Manage cross disciplinary hazard and risk projects including planning, resource allocation, timelines, and coordination with team members or stakeholders.Prepare technical reports, assessments, proposals, and documentation that summarise findings, recommendations, and progress on disaster risk reduction initiatives.Support engagement activities with communities, building partnerships with stakeholders (e.g., local governments, agencies and professionals), and effectively communicate risk information and mitigation strategies.Collaborate with stakeholders across fields such as engineering, land use planning, disaster management and proactively build productive relationships to integrate technical expertise and stakeholder perspectives into comprehensive disaster risk reduction strategies.Build and maintain an understanding of the international, national and state policy, legislative and delivery landscape in emergency and disaster management and components of a risk assessment.Perform root cause analysis for issues across a broad range of agendas and scales to develop bespoke fit for purpose solutions focussed on end users.Represent QRA or the Manager at stakeholder meetings and events with relevant industry and organisations and incorporate learnings into team and divisional planning.Lead and model highly collaborative relationships through the sharing of knowledge, experience and reflections as part of a wider team of multi-disciplinary specialists.This role reports to the Program Manager, Hazard Risk Management.To learn more about working for QRA, visit our website.
