An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Project Officer (Assets) to join the newly established Asset Management team focused on providing enhanced asset management capability to the Queensland Police Service (QPS) across numerous asset classes.
The role will assist in the development of range of strategy, planning and reporting documents (including Asset Management and Maintenance Plans, Asset Lifecycle Plans) to ensure asset management system delivers outcomes that align with the strategic intentions, addresses risk and compliance and derives value over the asset lifecycle.

Your Key Accountabilities: The core capability requirements for this role are: Provide strategic advice and direction to key internal and external stakeholders in the development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate asset management plans, policies, systems, and practices.Provide advice on asset management budget preparation, asset management reporting requirements and asset accounting policies, procedures and issues to functional governance committees, senior management and external stakeholders.Research matters to develop and prepare quality reports, submissions, briefing notes and correspondence, including advice, strategies and options on emerging issues and business improvement ideas impacting asset management.Ensure compliance with the Service's asset accounting policy, relevant Treasury guidelines, standards and audit requirements.Coordinate the Asset Management Plans, particularly capability gap analysis, asset rationalisation and disposal plans and maintain reliable asset related information, whole-of-life costs to facilitate decision making.Develop, implement and continuously review asset management systems and procedures and establish and perform systems appraisals and risk management assessments.Proactively develop and foster collaborative networks across QPS to develop and support asset management.Role Requirements: Technical/Operational/Educational experience: Knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of legislation, government policies and accounting guidelines in relation to effective management of assets within a public sector environment. Other: Experience in Microsoft Power Platform Applications (Power Apps, Power BI & Power Automate) would be highly beneficial.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
