Role Overview: As the Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in building a greenfield, state-of-the-art smart factory, the first of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and working closely with the General Manager - Queensland, you will lead the technological transformation and modernization of their manufacturing operations, ensuring the seamless integration of cutting-edge technology across all facets of the new facility.
Key Responsibilities: Smart Factory Development: Lead the implementation and optimization of a greenfield smart factory, incorporating advanced technologies such as automated demand planning, real-time production optimization, and robotic systems.
Technology Integration: Oversee the integration of factory operations with transport systems to enhance efficiency and streamline processes.
You will ensure seamless data flow between systems and optimize processes within a high-volume production facility or distribution center.
Reporting & Analytics: Work with the Queensland leadership team and Head of Business Intelligence to develop requirements and deploy Power BI reporting and real-time production floor analytics.
Infrastructure Ownership: Take full accountability for the planning, setup, and maintenance of all technological infrastructure, including network architecture, Camera & CCTV systems, tablets and production floor displays, and office fit-out.
Power / Redundancies: You will implement redundancies and backup systems to ensure a reliable and secure operational environment.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and IT, to align technology initiatives with business goals and drive continuous improvement.
Operational Support: Provide ongoing support and leadership for the operational technology team, ensuring the smooth operation of robotic machinery and other automated systems.
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a long-term technology roadmap in collaboration with senior management to support the company's growth and innovation objectives.
Compliance & Security: Ensure that all technology systems adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements, with a focus on cybersecurity, data protection, and the integration of AI and advanced software systems.
Future Initiatives: Once the smart facility goes live, you'll be involved in a breadth of other initiatives around AI, smart camera systems, and additional site builds, providing continuous challenges and growth opportunities across all states.
Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience in managing operational technology within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the construction products segment but not necessary.
Strong background in smart factory development, automation, and technology integration, particularly in high-volume distribution centers.
Expertise in network architecture, security protocols, and infrastructure management, including knowledge of how data flows through different systems.
Experience with AI, software systems, and solar power systems is highly desirable, especially in implementing redundancies and backup systems.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
