Senior Project Manager – RACT Youth Road Safety Program RACT has been part of the Tasmanian community for 100 years. Your new role RACT is introducing a comprehensive youth road safety program as part of secondary education. Funded by and working with the Tasmanian State Government, this role will lead the design, development and delivery of a brand-new road safety education program that is offered for years 9 to 12 across all Tasmanian schools. This is a 3-year contract position.
Through leading and managing the delivery of a high impact program, this role will inspire and motivate young Tasmanians to develop attitudes and skills for safer road use. This role will engage and support key experts that will inform and support the design and measurement of the program, working to ensure agreed milestones are achieved.
Management of an $8M budget, including reporting, to meet project and grant obligations. Inspire others by explaining why RACT is pursuing the relevant outcomes. Stakeholder and community engagement and management. Work collaboratively and transparently with stakeholders to shape solutions and solve problems. Professional project management including user story and requirements definition, identification and implementation of technology options, developing scopes, schedules, dependencies, budgets, and implementation plans, risk and issue identification and proactive management. Facilitate regular Steering Committee meetings and communicate clear progress updates to stakeholders. Proactively request support as needed and share the impact of risks and issues. Engage and support key experts that will inform and support the design and measurement of the program, working to ensure agreed milestones are achieved. Engage and manage vendors as required. What you'll need to succeed Extensive experience and project management expertise in large projects, with relevant budget management skills. Highly developed stakeholder relationship management abilities. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the community, educational professionals, research academics and representatives across government, and industry. Procurement and contract management skills. You are an agile 'do-er' as well as an 'oversee-er', with strong negotiation skills and great attention to detail, and not afraid to think outside the box. Solid familiarity with the varied Tasmanian community landscapes. Experience in education and/or road safety is highly desirable. The ability to acquire a WWVP.
