About the Role: The primary role of the Senior Project Manager - Major Projects is to manage the successful implementation of major community infrastructure projects within Moira's capital delivery program. You will play a critical part in the development and execution of these projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of project development, planning, tendering and implementation of Council's major projects delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards, adhering to the Council's project management framework. Prepare and develop existing business cases and project plans, establish appropriate governance, identify, allocate and manage resources, and meet stakeholder reporting requirements in a timely and effective manner. Develop Stakeholder Management Plans and carry out necessary stakeholder engagement as required during project development and delivery. Develop and implement strategies and tools for continuous monitoring and evaluation of major projects. Consistently assess project progress and overall effectiveness. Oversee safety standards in conjunction with the Council's OH&S systems, ensuring safety targets are achieved and a safe workplace culture is maintained. Collaborate and engage regularly with customers and stakeholders to meet project objectives. Requirements for the Role: Tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or a related field, or extensive experience in community infrastructure projects. Certified Professional (AIPM, EA, PMI) highly desired Demonstrated project management skills with experience managing projects ranging from $5 to $30 million, including expertise in risk management and mitigation strategies. Proficiency in relevant computer skills and project management software, along with a strong understanding of financial principles and budget management for large-scale projects. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong leadership abilities and experience managing project teams. Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation in project processes, and the ability to navigate compliance, governance, and stakeholder engagement in a municipal setting.
