Senior Project Manager

Austral Construction are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager from a civil and earthworks background to join our company to assist on an earthworks/civil project in the Kalgoorlie region of Western Australia. You will play a key role in the success of our project by conducting technical discussion, long-term planning, budgeting, and finances, and liaising with the senior representatives of our client.
Candidates who are keen to acquire a long-term senior role as a 2IC to the Civil Manager are encouraged to apply. This will encompass working across various projects and dealing with a number of different clients. About the Role: Liaise with client on project matters and construction methodology and plans, Strong Financial and Commercial knowledge to control budgets, Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements, Liaise with client regarding design, construction and contract issues, Review documents and designs and suggesting alternative solutions, Ensure the project is managed in accordance with contractual obligations, Ensure insurances and resources are in accordance with project budgets and reconciliations, Proactively provide input in support in the maintenance of a safe workplace, Manage information and conduct appropriate monitoring and reporting duties. Preferred Skills: Preferably a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar site-based role, Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering, Project or Construction Management or similar field, Knowledge of costings and cost controls on major projects, Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications, Detailed understanding of construction methods and roles within a project team, Excellent written and verbal communication and a genuine concern for health, safety and the environment, Developed analytical and problem-solving skills while adhering to deadlines, Competent in the use of planning software such as MS Project and Pronto.
