Primary purpose of position
The purpose of this position is to manage the establishment and operation of a discovery project relating to Advance Care Planning. The project will be required to engage with a wide range of stakeholders across multiple levels of government and the private sector to map the national landscape related to ACP in Australia, identify barriers and issues, and identify possible solutions.
The project will produce two key outcomes
1. A current state analysis identifying problems and barriers, and
2. A future state analysis recommending further activity and owners.
The Project Manager will be accountable, under broad direction, to manage a complex discovery project that will require planning, leadership and management.
The key skills and experience required include:
demonstrated experience in managing policy, legislative and technology projects in a multi-stakeholder environment, creating and managing integrated project schedules that align dependencies and deliverables, track progress and minimise project risk.
ability to perform a leadership role and be responsible for defining and managing the requirements, scope and the end-to-end delivery of projects ensuring compliance with the Agency's project management framework, policies and procedures.
high level stakeholder engagement skills and be able to understand, negotiate and resolve very complex, difficult, and/or sensitive issues that may arise within a project.
The Project Manager will require the ability to facilitate policy, legislative and technical discussions to understand impact on project delivery and communicate effectively to a wide audience. This role will support delivery of the Agency's Aged Care Program which is aimed at ensuring older Australians receive better connected aged and health care enabled by My Health Record and supported by a digitally enabled and proficient aged and health care sector.
Employees at this level exercise sound decision making and judgement to produce high level policy advice. EL1 employees engage in complex problem solving and issues management and may coordinate and undertake detailed or sensitive projects that impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes for the agency. Employees also responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships within and outside the agency and may manage one or more work teams.
