HEO7) $98,343 - $109,989 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.Fixed term | Full Time position until February 2026Research Services provides professional staff support services to the University's Research community in relation to competitive research funding/grant opportunities, research grant administration, applications and awards, research ethics, compliance and integrity management, research contract management, and research-related reporting and collections as well as general and strategic advice to researchers and research leaders.The Senior Project Initiation Contract Manager is responsible for supporting the initiation of research and associated projects including reviewing and executing agreements, liaising with research legal, ensuring compliance with relevant UoA policies, and confirming that pre-commencement requirements for the project activity have been met.
The Senior Project Initiation Contract Manager is also responsible for maintaining relevant corporate records and preparing documentation regarding commencing activities to the Research Services Post-Award team.The Senior Project Initiation Contract Manager will foster strong relationships between internal clients and external organisations and also plays a role in raising awareness regarding university compliance requirements and contracting processes within the University research community.
Where required, this position will also support other research project administration activities, including Pre-Award functions, facilitation of affiliate arrangements (e.g., PIRSA/SARDI Partnership support team), and the day-to-day management of research-related contracts.To be successful you will need:Demonstrated knowledge and extensive experience in contracting research activities, including establishment, funding arrangements, and other associated agreements (preferably within a University environment).Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and written communication skills (including the ability to prepare correspondence for internal and external audiences and briefing papers for management) and the ability to build relationships for long-term collaboration with demonstrated negotiation and engagement skills.Demonstrated capacity to evaluate and interpret complex rules, policies, and procedures.Demonstrated high-level conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, plan actions, and work well to tight (externally imposed) deadlines.Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence, and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.Desirable:Sound understanding of university research management and university funding systems.Qualifications:Degree qualification(s) in an appropriate field with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Enjoy an outstanding career environmentThe University of Adelaide is a uniquely rewarding workplace.
