About theRole This position playsa key role in the delivery of Major Projects within theInfrastructure and Operations portfolio. The role will deliverassigned projects in accordance with Council's Project ManagementFramework (PMF) and Corporate and Operational Governancerequirements through the initiation, planning, delivery, andhandover phases to ensure project objectives areachieved.
Therole will Analyse and manage project risk which will includeidentifying and evaluating potential risks before and during theproject phases and implement and monitor mitigation strategies toensure project success. You will p rovide high levelprofessional engineering advice, including the analysis andinterpretation of engineering requirements.
AboutYou Ideally you willhave t ertiaryqualifications in Engineering (preferred) or ConstructionManagement, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or other relatedtechnical qualification. A c urrent "C" classvehicle licence and Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD)are required as is the c apacity to obtainCertified Practicing Project Manager (CPPM - Australian Instituteof Project Management).  Current RegisteredProfessional Engineer Queensland shall be considered highlyadvantageous and desirable for the role.
Other recommendedattributes will include:
Proficient inMicrosoft office suite including but not limited to Word,Excel, Power point, Outlook, Project, and other relevantsoftware such as Skype/Teams, One Note etc. Strongexperience (minimum of six years) in the successful executionof public utilities capital infrastructure projects across theinitiation, planning, delivery, and handoverphases. Demonstratedhighly developed leadership, interpersonal and communicationskills with experience in multi-faceted stakeholdermanagement. Highlydeveloped written communication, organizational,administrative, management and technical skills to ensure thedelivery of capital infrastructure projects within the MajorProjects portfolio by suppliers, consultants, contractors, andother stakeholders to meet customer requirements. Proven contractmanagement experience and commercial acumen in the delivery ofAustralian Standard suite of contracts in the role ofSuperintendent or Principal and or ClientRepresentative. Provenexperience in the preparation of specifications, tenders,scopes of work, standards, and contracts particularly relevantto Council and the Australian Standard suite ofcontracts. Thoroughknowledge and understanding of Local Government policies,procedures and practices and overarching safety, quality andenvironment acts, legislation, codes of practice and standardsrelevant to the requirements of the role and Townsville CityCouncil.
