Permanent Full Time opportunity available (9 day fortnight) Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (preferred) LGO 8 ($113,644 - $128,384 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience ET8 (degree qualified) ($124,553 - $137,989 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience About the Role This position plays a key role in the delivery of Major Projects within the Infrastructure and Operations portfolio. The role will deliver assigned projects in accordance with Council's Project Management Framework (PMF) and Corporate and Operational Governance requirements through the initiation, planning, delivery, and handover phases to ensure project objectives are achieved.
The role will analyze and manage project risk which will include identifying and evaluating potential risks before and during the project phases and implement and monitor mitigation strategies to ensure project success. You will provide high level professional engineering advice, including the analysis and interpretation of engineering requirements.
About You Ideally you will have tertiary qualifications in Engineering (preferred) or Construction Management, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or other related technical qualification. A current "C" class vehicle licence and Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD) are required as is the capacity to obtain Certified Practicing Project Manager (CPPM - Australian Institute of Project Management). Current Registered Professional Engineer Queensland shall be considered highly advantageous and desirable for the role.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and other relevant software such as Skype/Teams, OneNote etc. Strong experience (minimum of six years) in the successful execution of public utilities capital infrastructure projects across the initiation, planning, delivery, and handover phases. Demonstrated highly developed leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with experience in multi-faceted stakeholder management. Highly developed written communication, organizational, administrative, management and technical skills to ensure the delivery of capital infrastructure projects within the Major Projects portfolio by suppliers, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to meet customer requirements. Proven contract management experience and commercial acumen in the delivery of Australian Standard suite of contracts in the role of Superintendent or Principal and/or Client Representative. Proven experience in the preparation of specifications, tenders, scopes of work, standards, and contracts particularly relevant to Council and the Australian Standard suite of contracts. Thorough knowledge and understanding of Local Government policies, procedures and practices and overarching safety, quality and environment acts, legislation, codes of practice and standards relevant to the requirements of the role and Townsville City Council.
