The role will be accountable for providing expert advice on project communications, stakeholder and landholder engagement to members of AEMO's Senior Leadership Team and working with key external stakeholders to build AEMO's project community and stakeholder engagement capacity and social licence.
The Senior Project Communications Advisor will oversee and support their team to coordinate and manage all key project communications, stakeholder and landholder engagement activities, including but not limited to community events, stakeholder forums, individual landholder liaison and project communications, as well facilitating two-way engagement and ensuring stakeholder inputs are captured and considered as part of the Project design and development process.
This role will also drive the delivery of the VNI West social value strategy to ensure the project delivers positive and sustainable social outcomes.
Role responsibilities The Senior Project Communications Advisor will drive effective stakeholder, community, and landholder engagement to support the VNI West Project.
Responsible for managing numerous project-related consultants across community and stakeholder engagement, landholder engagement and social value delivery.
Articulate, present and negotiate complex stakeholder, landholder and community issues to influence positive engagement, including across all levels of management at AEMO.
Drive the strategic direction and planning for communications, stakeholder and landholder engagement for VNI West, including an annual roadmap of activity and milestones Lead and oversee a team of 2 direct reports and be responsible for the delivery of AEMO's communications, stakeholder, community and landholder engagement on the VNI West project in Victoria.
Experience and knowledge Extensive experience in delivering complex infrastructure projects.
Energy sector and preferably transmission infrastructure experience is highly preferred for this role Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver strategic landholder, community and stakeholder consultation plans and strategies, under pressure and tight deadlines.
Demonstrated experience developing strategies that build and embed social licence across programs and projects.
Demonstrated strategic communication and interpersonal skills and experience in giving presentations, chairing/facilitating meetings, production of effective written communications such as briefings, papers, stakeholder communications, publications, submissions.
A strong passion for driving landholder, community and stakeholder outcomes, and building and sustaining positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Education / certifications Relevant tertiary qualifications (Bachelor or Masters) in communications, engagement or a similar discipline.
IAP2 qualifications.
