Details of the offer

About ROLLER ROLLER is not your average software-as-a-service company. With a global presence in over 30 countries, we're here to bring some excitement to the leisure and attractions industry and make a difference! Our mission is to help businesses operate smoothly and create fun and memorable guest experiences by providing seamless ticketing, point-of-sale, self-serve kiosks, memberships and digital waiver processes. But here's the best part: our team. We're a group of 120+ highly passionate, enthusiastic, and down-to-earth professionals located all around the world who are all working together to build something truly remarkable. We're aiming high and believe that the possibilities are endless. As we continue to grow globally, we're excited to write our success story and have fun along the way. We genuinely love what we do, and we're looking for like-minded people to join us on this amazing journey. If you're ready to be part of a dynamic team and make a real impact, come aboard, and let's create some unforgettable experiences together at ROLLER! About the Role We're hiring a Senior Product Designer to help liberate the power of the cloud, and build beautiful simple experiences that help businesses across the globe enhance their guest experience, manage their work and employees better, grow and become more compelling. You'll play a central role in shaping our product experience, working as a true equal with Engineering and Product. This is a role where you will be empowered to have a significant impact. Why Should You Apply ROLLER is a remote-first company, and this is a remote job. We have an office in Melbourne where we collaborate - this job is Melbourne based. Design is central to ROLLER, both as a product and company. Our vision is to help our customers (leisure and attractions businesses) operate more effectively and deliver a better guest experience for their customers. You'll have the opportunity to work on multiple types of products, from SaaS to eCommerce to CRM and more, with a wide range of complexities. Packaging up all the fantastic things you can do in a way that ANYONE can is a monumental design challenge. At ~4 Product Designers across 5 different squads, we're small enough that you can still significantly impact the product experience and the creative culture, and we're big enough to have the resources to execute big ideas. The company is financially strong (we grow and hire mindfully, and we make millions of dollars in recurring revenue, with years of data to prove its durability). If you want to have the opportunity to work across an whole customer journey and not be confined to a single part of a product, you can do that at ROLLER. What You'll Do High-quality Design Craft: Collaborate with the Design Director and Senior Product Designers to deeply understand and contribute to the overarching Product Design vision. Develop your design practice, emphasising not only consistency but also a commitment to delivering quality experiences in every piece of work. Infuse a culture of collaboration within your squad, promoting creativity in design practices. Conduct thorough desk research, delving into domain and competitor analyses to stay abreast of industry trends and best practices. Analyse research insights, product strategy, and technical constraints to contribute effectively to problem definition. Create articulate design frameworks, ranging from wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes, to provide solutions for complex problems. Explore and conceptualise future design visions aligned with evolving customer needs. Collaboration and Prototyping: Collaborate with other designers, and squad members to contribute to phased design solutions that incrementally add customer value. Prototype innovative concepts to tangibly demonstrate proposed solutions, continually testing, and refining ideas with the people we are building for. Nurture a culture of feedback and continuous improvement within your design practice. Develop content design strategies to ensure consistency, purposeful content, and alignment with customer needs. Design Research and Testing: Lead or actively participate in user testing activities. Actively contribute to identifying research opportunities, actively participating in planning and executing research and testing. Engage in generative user research to understand customer goals, needs, behaviours, and pain points. Synthesise research data, articulating insights with clarity. Communication and Handover: Present your design work effectively to diverse audiences and stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of the value and impact of your work to both the business and customers. Craft comprehensive handover materials, such as user flow diagrams and design specifications, to facilitate seamless implementation for engineers. Relationship Management: Cultivate effective cross-functional relationships, establishing influence throughout the organisation. Actively participate and lead cross-functional team workshops to encourage collaboration and interdisciplinary creativity. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure proposed solutions harmoniously balance user needs, business strategy, and technical constraints. About You At many companies, product design is split into different roles: UX, UI, etc. At ROLLER, it's all one role. This means our designers are generalists. Along with having great visual taste and sensibilities, you must be able to conduct research and have a good sense of Product life-cycle. You have a basic understanding of front-end HTML & CSS to design solutions that are possible to build most efficiently. You'll collaborate with programmers to bring features to life. You thrive in a fast paced work environment that requires outstanding problem-solving skills and autonomy. You possess a strong bias for action, consistently driven to accomplish tasks and goals. Here are some things we've worked on recently to give you a sense of what you'll be doing day-to-day: Built a fully managed eCommerce solution for our customers (businesses) to serve their customers Made a daily task management solution to encourage a better and more efficient workflow for our customers Interviewed, surveyed and user-tested our solutions with customers Created a dashboard to provide better analytics for our customers Ran competitor analysis and researched the market to identify gaps and opportunities Built a guest feedback system for our customers to collect helpful feedback regarding their businesses Designed solutions for our customers to better manage their venues and staff Created complex sitemaps and user flows that make sense for our complex products Built a new design system and approach to design and development Worked closely with developers to ensure the quality of our designs Facilitated workshops with key people to ensure we're building the right solution Perks! You'll get to work on a category-leading product that customers love in a fun, high-growth industry! Check our Capterra and G2 reviews. 4 ROLLER Recharge days per year (that is 4 additional days of leave that we all take off together as a team to rest and recuperate) Engage in our 'Vibe Tribe' - led by our team members; you can contribute to company-wide initiatives directly. Regular events and social activities, fundraising & cause-related campaigns...you name it. We're willing to make it happen! Team Member Assistance Program to proactively support our team's health and wellbeing - access to coaching, education modules, weekly webinars, and more. 16 weeks paid Parental Leave for primary carers and 4 weeks paid Parental Leave for secondary carers. Work with a driven, fun, and switched-on team that likes to raise the bar in all we do! Individual learning & development budget plus genuine career growth opportunities as we continue to expand! What You Can Expect Initial call with our Talent Acquisition Manager You'll have an initial call with our Talent Acquisition Manager to chat through some of your experience to date, salary expectations and you can check off any initial questions you might have. Portfolio review with the Director of Design You'll have the chance to present your portfolio to the Director of Design, so we can see what your strengths are. We want to get a feel for your approach to design and some of the problems you have worked on solving. Whiteboard, critique & collaboration This stage is an online whiteboard session with our Director of Design and another team member - we want to see how you collaborate and approach a design problem. Loop Interviews You will get the opportunity to meet with some of the people you will be working with. Offer If all lights are green and the fit feels right, we'll conduct reference checks and you'll receive an offer to join! #J-18808-Ljbffr
