About the role: * The Senior Procurement Officer is responsible for providing support and oversight for the operational delivery of compliant, value-focused procurement activities (both general and ICT), and supporting competitive funding projects.
* This role ensures departmental procurements are delivered within broader legislative and policy frameworks, including the Department of Health and Victorian Government Purchasing Board procurement frameworks, whilst supporting staff to achieve strong value for money procurement outcomes for the department and the State.
* This position also provides high-level procurement and associated policy advice and support to a diverse range of internal business partners, leads and provides effective relationship management support across the department, and ensures compliance procurement and funding outcomes for the department.

How you'll make a difference: * Apply excellent commercial acumen to lead and support end-to-end procurement activities, including the provision of expert advice about procurement sourcing approaches and processes, approval frameworks, policies and control gates to internal clients and stakeholders.
* Liaise with a diverse range of internal stakeholders and ensure a high level of client service delivery.
* Comply with the Financial Management Act 1994, the Victorian Government Purchasing Board Supply Policies and other relevant legislation, regulations and government directives, policies and guidelines * Effectively apply government procurement policies and legislative requirements, including the application of Victoria's Social Procurement Framework, Local Jobs First Policy, and Fair Jobs Code.
* Review and provide expert advice on policy and guidelines to internal clients and stakeholders with respect to general and ICT procurement and funding planning.
* In line with key procurement principles, including probity and transparency, support the design and timely delivery of medium to high complexity procurement and funding documentation (Procurement Plans, specifications and request/response documents, evaluation materials, contracts and approval briefs), compliant with procurement procedures, legislative requirements, and contractual terms.
Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate: * Experience in public sector procurement would be highly regarded.
