Are you an experienced Simulation Engineer with a passion for innovation and problem-solving? If so, we want you to be a part of our dynamic team in Perth! As a Senior Simulation Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, testing, and commissioning simulators to meet project requirements.
The Role :
The Senior Simulation Engineer is primarily responsible and accountable for design, implementation, testing and commissioning of simulators according to project requirements.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with a team of engineers throughout simulator projects. Communicate progress and project needs with solution Delivery Managers and project managers. Prepare functional designs, including models, bills of materials, and simulator architecture. Perform heat and mass balances using operational and design data. Model reference plant equipment and modify existing models as needed. Simulate control systems for diverse operations, from local controllers to full plant control. Test and tune modelled systems to meet contract specifications. Use plant models to commission new or refurbished control systems. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Travel to site locations to deliver and commission simulators. Perform validation and acceptance testing of simulators. Prepare customer documentation and train clients on simulator use. Install and configure project software and hardware. What we're looking for:
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering. 6+ years of experience in operator training simulator development. Proficient in interpreting customer specifications and converting them into simulator designs. Solid understanding of plant operation, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and control theory. Proficient in modelling process equipment and processes using C and VBA languages. Comfortable working with various operating systems and virtualised computer hardware. Strong customer service, communication, and analytical skills. Capable of developing and modifying scripts. Hands-on experience with simulation packages like Promodel, Unisim, HYSYS, or similar. Familiarity with process plant operations, especially in power plants. Experience working within ISO9001 procedures. Willingness to travel overseas for short-term assignments (up to 3 months). Team player with excellent interpersonal skills. * Suitable applications must hold full working rights in Australia.
