Senior Process Engineer

My client is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join their growing consultancy team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the alumina refining industry, with a strong focus on digester unit operations. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership and strategic guidance to both clients and internal teams, contributing to the successful design, optimization, and troubleshooting of alumina refining processes.Key Responsibilities:Lead process engineering activities in alumina refinery projects, focusing on digester units and related processes.Conduct process simulations, process design, and optimization studies for alumina refining operations.Provide technical expertise to clients in the design and operational optimization of digester units, including equipment selection, operation, and troubleshooting.Evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and environmental performance.Support the development of project scopes, schedules, and budgets.Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and other team members.Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, and client stakeholders, to deliver high-quality solutions.Prepare technical reports, presentations, and proposals for clients.Key Requirements:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in process engineering within the alumina refining industry.Extensive hands-on experience with digester units, including design, operations, optimization, and troubleshooting.Strong understanding of the full alumina refining process, including Bayer process, digestion, precipitation, and refining steps.Proven track record in delivering successful process engineering solutions in large-scale industrial projects.Experience with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS, etc.) and related process optimization tools.Solid understanding of process safety management and environmental compliance within the alumina sector.Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE PERMANENT RESIDENCY OR CITIZENSHIP WITHIN AUSTRALIA.
