ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent 9-day fortnight working arrangement – Worsley Alumina DIDO based at the Worsley Refinery near Collie. Reporting to the Control and Automation Lead, the role of Senior Process Control Engineer will lead the development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing support of our advanced control applications and process control system platform as it applies to the Worsley Alumina's Mine, Materials, Refinery and Port areas.
You will be collaborating with stakeholders to identify plant-wide priorities in our process control systems, aid in troubleshooting, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve overall safety, cost and production outcomes.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
Control strategy design and integration of APC applications into new and/or existing control schemes.Support the maintenance of control system infrastructure.Assist in the training of operating personnel to ensure effective usage of the systems.Provide support for site and corporate technology projects with the design and implementation of new control system solutions as required, including Capital uplift and decarbonisation.Create and maintain process control-related procedures, SWIs, and standards.Work with consultants, suppliers, and vendors to plan technology updates and to ensure their services are provided in accordance to plans, standards, and specifications.ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
Qualifications:
10+ years' experience in engineering, implementation, and commissioning of process control applications, including experience in Advanced Process Control and Optimiser applications.Good understanding of Instrumentation and Control communication networks and protocols.Experience on the below control systems is highly regarded but not essential; Honeywell Process Control Systems – Profit Suite, EPKS and TPS, and Schneider PLC family – ProWORX32 and Unity, Siemens PCS7, SEL RTAC and ABB MicroScada.Tertiary level qualifications (Bachelor Degree or higher) related to Process Control Engineering (such as Electrical/Instrumentation and Control / Process / Chemical Engineering or similar).Demonstrated, advanced written and oral language proficiency.South32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
