QBE is seeking a Senior Privacy Specialist to provide direction, review, and challenge privacy compliance activities across Australia Pacific. This pivotal role will serve as the second-in-charge to the Head of Privacy, emphasizing its seniority and advisory nature. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in advising on privacy impact assessments and navigating new technologies, particularly AI. A technology-oriented background is preferred. This role requires a deep understanding of technology and the ability to strategically assess privacy implications, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
Your Responsibilities:

Develop and implement compliance and governance policies and standards.
Support operational strategies for business profitability and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with management directives, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
Drive and manage change initiatives in compliance matters.
Foster stakeholder engagement and cultivate cross-functional relationships to achieve business goals.

About You:
QBE is seeking a Senior Privacy Specialist with strong influencing and relationship management skills. Experience in stakeholder management at a senior level, handling high volumes of requests from various business units, and tailoring communications accordingly is highly valued. The role demands excellent time management and autonomy. Candidates should have a proven ability to advise on and assess privacy incidents, support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and address ad hoc privacy inquiries. They will also monitor the regulatory environment, including evolving legislation such as the Privacy Act reforms and impact of other laws on personal information.
