Position Profile: We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic person to join our team as a Senior Policy Officer within the Sustainable Development Unit.
The Senior Policy Officer will contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and programs pertaining to Sustainable Development Unit activities and projects. Developing key project plans and strategies to assist in meeting the objectives of the Sustainable Development Unit.
The Sustainable Development Unit has been established to lead and coordinate a health system response to climate change, increase resilience, reduce carbon emissions, and improve sustainability.
Role Responsibilities: Research, analyse and provide high level policy advice on complex issues relevant to climate health and environmental sustainability.Review and monitor relevant policies, research, programs and practices and formulate recommendations to support evidence-based project planning and decision making.Provide advice on the development and implementation of policies and programs. Identify and analyse potential risks, benefits, costs and impact on the WA health system in relation to proposed initiatives and strategies.Provide project management support for the implementation of strategic policy initiatives and programs.Support and coordinate the development and ongoing use of environmental sustainability metrics which provide high quality, robust information and insights to stakeholders to inform decision making.Employee Benefits: In addition to the great salary, our employees enjoy an amazing range of benefits which may include (in line with operational requirements):
