This position is a fixed term full-time or part-time opportunity commencing for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.

About the Role The Senior Policy Officer is vital in reviewing and developing the State's comprehensive all-hazard emergency management framework. The framework consists of the Emergency Management Act 2005, the Emergency Management Regulations 2006, and the suite of State Emergency Management documents (comprising of the State Emergency Management Policy, Plans, Procedures, Guidelines, Glossary and Forms). This position also supports the Principal Policy and Planning Officer in providing executive and administrative support to state-level emergency management subcommittees and working groups.
We seek applicants with experience in policy review to assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating the State Emergency Management Framework in alignment with national and State directives best practices. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are essential for consulting and liaising with local governments and non-government agencies across Western Australia to provide policy advice related to the State Emergency Management arrangements.
