Senior Policy Officer * Salary: $109,730 – $121,247 (Plus Superannuation) * Fixed term: Until 1 December 2025 * Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available) * Usual work location: Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available) The Role The Senior Policy Officer will develop and lead high level policy advice as part of the Migration Policy and Projects team.
They will lead key skilled migration program policy projects, and undertake analysis of current and potential government policy to support the state's economic development agenda.
The Senior Policy Officer will also lead consultations with industry and government stakeholders on various aspects of migration policy and program development.
The successful applicant will work as a member of a dynamic, multi-skilled team, enjoy flexible working arrangements, and undertake a wide variety of work.
The Team This Senior Policy Officer role forms part of the Skilled and Business Migration Program (SBMP) within the Industry, Trade and Investment group.
SBMP Policy and Projects team is responsible for the development and delivery of policies and strategies relating to skilled migrants nominated by Victoria, and the attraction and retention of talent to support the Victorian Government's economic development and labour market objectives.
The ITI group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness.
About You The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: * Demonstrated experience in designing and leading effective policy projects and programs across government.
* Experience in providing authoritative, high-quality advice on public policy in a sensitive and complex environment.
* Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills.
