The position of Senior Policy Officer is in the Regulatory Policy and Programs division and plays a key advisory and leadership role in the management of animal biosecurity policy and legislation. The Senior Policy Officer will be responsible for leading animal biosecurity policy projects including regulatory amendments. The position will also contribute to biosecurity incident preparedness and response.
The successful applicant will have the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as drive their own work program. To be successful you will also need to display a 'can-do' attitude and the capacity to actively contribute to developing a culture of excellence, collaboration and integrity. The successful applicant will enjoy flexible work arrangements and have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of work across the division.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
A veterinary medicine, veterinary science, agricultural science or public/veterinary health policy tertiary degree is mandatory. Further studies in policy, animal disease, or areas relevant to the accountabilities would be well regarded.
This is Ongoing position. The work location for this position is in Attwood with hybrid work arrangements available.
