Senior Policy Officer

The Department of the House of Representatives is seeking applications from those interested in directly supporting the work of the House of Representatives and members of Parliament at Parliament House in Canberra.
About the role The Senior Policy Officer provides technical Human Resources (HR) and Workplace Relations (WR) advice; assisting in the delivery of HR strategies and business improvement programs; and interpreting, developing and implementing HR and WR policies and frameworks, working under limited direction.
The successful applicant will demonstrate well-developed written and oral communication skills, initiative, an ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within and across teams, an ability to set and deliver against work priorities, and excellent time management skills.
They will be client focussed, highly motivated, and adaptable to the department's environment; and demonstrate the ability to build and maintain relationships across the organisation.
The successful applicant will also demonstrate well developed technical HR and/or WR knowledge and experience in one or more relevant disciplines.
