Position Details SENIOR POLICY AND RESEARCH OFFICERAn exciting opportunity is available to join the Policy and Projects team at the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA) as a Senior Policy and Research Officer (VPS-5).POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Senior Policy and Research Officer is responsible for supporting their Assistant Director in the successful achievement of the ANZPAA Strategy and Business Plan and work across a range of work items in support of the ANZPAA Board (Board) and Australia New Zealand Council for the Police Profession (ANZCoPP/the Council).The position will build and manage stakeholder relationships, lead product workshops and consultation meetings, conduct research for the purposes of international benchmarking and develop innovative solutions to a wide variety of policing issues.The position will be responsible for developing policy products, meeting papers, briefings, reports, presentations as well as manage the administration of policy projects where required.ANZPAA's Policy and Projects team is responsible for the development, review and implementation of cross-jurisdictional policy products relating to a range of contemporary policing issues.The team is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of ANZPAA's cross-jurisdictional instruments, including education and training products, principles, strategies, and policy approaches on various policing areas.They are also responsible for managing ANZPAA's work relating to road safety and Vocational Education and Training (VET) policy and engagement.The Senior Policy and Research Officer will have strong communication, problem solving and critical thinking capability.They will also have a proven ability in facilitation and presentation skills.They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can build trusting relationships with stakeholders and team members alike.Successful applicants will demonstrate: a desire to work in changing and challenging environments.the ability to actively engage innovative, creative, and original thinking.a capacity for collaborating and supporting a high performing team culture.experience working with senior executives and leaders.This position is full-time fixed term until 30 June , with opportunity for extension beyond this date.The closing date for applications for this position is midnight 16th June .This position is only open to applicants with relevant rights to work in Australia.All applications should include: A cover letter (max.two pages) that addresses the key capabilities outlined in the attached position description.Your resume (max.three pages).Selected candidates will be required to complete a Pre-employment Declaration and Consent form.Employment of successful candidates will be subject to a National Police Check.Intra- or inter-state travel may be required in future.ANZPAA is organisational a division of Victoria Police.Any currently Victoria Police employees seeking to apply for the role would have the ability to transfer internally should they be successful.
