The role
The Senior Policy and Project Officer will join a small multidisciplinary team to lead and undertake project work to enable the successful coordination and delivery of Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs).
You will lead project workstreams to achieve milestones, coordinate resources, engage stakeholders and support the successful delivery of the ILUAs.
Key responsibilities include preparing briefings, conducting research, and liaising with stakeholders to identify and address emerging issues.

This role will challenge you to deliver high-level policy advice within tight timeframes, integrate diverse policy inputs, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to implement reform programs.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills to ensure effective policy development and implementation.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.
Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
High level of organisational skills with the ability to streamline processes, plan, coordinate and implement actions.
Knowledge of policy development and regulatory frameworks related to land and natural resource management.
Strong research and analytical skills to support evidence-based decision-making and policy recommendations.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
Key knowledge and experience
The ideal applicant will have experience in delivering complex projects or advising on critical decisions in a high-pressure environment.
Broad understanding of land and natural resource issues and relevant policy and legislative framework.
