The purpose of the Child Safety and Wellbeing Service is to support the Department to create a child safe culture, implement strategies and take action to promote child safety and wellbeing.The Senior Policy and Project Officer is expected to:Contribute to, and support, the development of high-level strategy policy analysis, including providing specialist advice on strategic policy issues.Plan, coordinate, and deliver a range of approved projects and strategic initiatives relating to safeguarding children and young people across the Department of Health, where appropriate, and support and assist in the delivery of CSW Service priorities.About you

It is crucial that you have a high level of personal resilience, with awareness of the principles of child safeguarding and trauma-informed principles.Contribute to a motivated and passionate team focused on children at the centre of health care service delivery.Contribute to broad systemic change through engagement with children and young people, development and implementation of policy and strategic projects, and undertaking complex risk analysis to improve service delivery.Positions can be located in South, North, or North-West regions.Details of Appointment

Permanent full-time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.Fixed term full-time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of three years.
*Notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed-term full-time, part-time and casual vacancies.Salary:

$104,756 - $118,730 per annum.
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.Essential Criteria:

Current Working with Children Registration or Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.Desirable Criteria:

Appropriate professional and/or tertiary qualifications in business administration, law, or public policy.The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
